Hit Piece
MSNBC did a hit piece on guns. Of course they did. I got a kick out of this:
“Seven year old Teresa has an AR-15: an air-cooled, semi-automatic, shoulder-mounted rifle that is currently used by the U.S. special forces in Iraq.”
Shoulder-mounted? So, it must require one of those shoulder things that go up. And I love the gratuitous use of terms designed to scare.

“air-cooled” — versus *what*?
Is there a version of the AR that has a water-cooled system that includes a backpack, pump, power system, and water? WTF?

The only good gun, _Jon, is an uncomfortably hot gun. Preferably smelted.
I’m more concerned over why our SpecOps are buying semi-auto AR-15’s. Evidence that military spending is actually too LOW, or shady backdoor pre-confiscation scheme?
Explains why prices are going up, though.

So I read this and think, “Lucky kid.” My 15 year old daughter would love an AR15, but has to make do with her single shot 22LR (which she did not get until she was NINE years old), and for a bigger blast, borrowing her older brother’s rotten old Mosin.
I wonder if MSNBC knows that for over 50% of the population, reports like this only decrease the channel’s overall value as a news source. Maybe their market strategy is to keep very happy that crazy ~3% of the viewing public they already have.

I wathced the show and it was a joke.
Whoever produced it knew nothing about guns.
They kept referring to AR-15s as AK-47s, and they never made the distinction between full and semi-auto.
The only good part is that a good bit of it was shot at an indoor range in Memphis where I like to shoot.

“shoulder-mounted?” As opposed to what?….. Oh wait, I forgot, she’s supposed to shoot that thing “from the hip” right?

>gave his daughter an AK-47
>*scene of daughter holding an AR-15*

“shoulder-mounted” because it is screwed into the shoulder socket.

…is there such a thing as a water-sleeve cooled AR upper, i wonder?
if by some chance there isn’t, betting pool on how soon ’till there is?

Thought only Aliens had shoulder mounted guns?

Holy fucking shit, it’s cooled by THE AIR!
RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!

Well, the good news is that since it’s shoulder mounted, she won’t be able to hip spray everyone at her school with it. The bad news is that our troops only have semi-automatic rifles, apparently.

A Law Rocket is “shoulder mounted”, an AR-15 isn’t…or at least it would be a weird way to fire one.

Somebody should tell MSNBC that if you cut the stock off to make it not “shoulder mounted,” then it’s even more eviler. Or something.
