To paraphrase former President James Earl Carter, the people get the government they deserve.
I recall someone adding that in Carter’s case that the people got it good and hard.
Obama deserved to get elected. The Republicans ran a weak presidential candidate who campaigned honorably but poorly. President Obama followed the lead of previous successful candidates who found and stuck with a message that resonated with voters, while avoiding the loss of his base. That is not to say the new president’s campaign made any sense; it did not. But the people who voted for him heard what they wanted to hear, voted him into office, and now have the President they deserve. They will be governed by him and his party good and hard.
I do owe a debt of gratitude to Jimmah for one thing – he screwed the country up so bad I went and joined the Army in order to keep from moving back home.
Yeah, he’s kidding. Everyone knows that any campaign aimed at preventing The One from assuming the Presidency is inherently dishonorable, not to mention racist.

Best thing that ever happened to me.
