If it saves just one life
Some major pants-shitting in Chicago over something that makes sense:
State Representative Annazette Collins found herself in the hot seat after she suggested that kids be educated about guns. She says downstate, children are educated about weapons at a young age….why not in more urban areas.
“Down state they teach you that guns are meant for hunting, for protection..here in the urban cities, all they see are guns on tv..and they gun down people.” said Collins.
When I was in high school, you took hunters safety as part of Phys Ed or ROTC.

Says our favorite violence inciting religious figure Father “Snuffy” Pfleger :
“That’s like saying we might as well sell drugs legally..we don’t want access to guns. We have children dying in this city. We’re talking about teaching gets kids in grammar school how to shoot guns? That’s crazy.”

I’ve long felt that gun safety education should be mandatory, like sex education. And for a lot of the same reasons.

T got one right. What is it they say about teaching kids to use condoms and such? “Well, if they’re going to do it anyway…”
We can alter the oft used phrase thusly; “Well, given that there are guns in so many American homes, and that kids are going to come in contact with guns anyway…”
“Of course, T; you have to qualify what you mean by “gun safety” since the radical Marxist American Left has turned so many words and phrases upside down. Do you mean the NRA version or the Violence Policy Center version of “gun safety”? The latter being to keep all guns, all images of guns and all mention of guns away from all regular citizens (except when demonizing guns– then you can show pictures of evil assault rifles, dead bodies and grieving families) while any actual technical or operational knowledge is verboten.
