Yo, I didn’t vote for Obama just so he would make me work for free. I thought he was going to pay my mortgage and car payment just so I wouldn’t have to work.
So Obama is now increasing the taxes on kids, the retired and eventually everybody. What else is it but a tax when the government confiscates your labor or leisure? Sure we mostly think of taxes as money but where does the money come from other than our time and labor?
Of course, this tax will fall most heavily on the poor and working since they will lose the most when their productive labors are diverted. The line worker or doctor can only make money if they are executing tasks, whereas the investor has his money working for him or he can remotely direct the productive capacity.
I thought those of us making less that $250k were getting a tax cut?
If you actually read the text of the bill it’s not mandatory at all. Near as I can tell it’s just to encourage kids to do volunteer work by giving them more money to help pay for college.

The delivery is a bit slow, but that last line is classic.

When I was in the Marines, we used to call this phenomena “being voluntold”.

Hmmm.
1. That’s because the mandatory part was cut out by Republicans.
2. However there is a committee to investigate making it mandatory.
3. And uniforms.
4. And education, ahem, re-education/indoctrination camps.
I’m sure many parents want their 18 year olds hauled off to political indoctrination camps, forced to wear uniforms and salute the Obama.
