All analyses, pronouncements, declarations, press releases, responses to questions, and legislative initiatives declaring the Democrats are not pursuing an anti-gun agenda should have the words “For Now” appended to them, because the moment there is a one vote majority for passage of any firearms control law, that law will pass.
This programmatic belief in civilian disarmament is what we have to fight, more than the anti-gun individuals and their actions. We have to change the argument from “stop civilian gun ownership for the safety of the children, et al.,” to our strongest argument, “Self defense is a human right, a civil right, and shall not be denied or curtailed by our elected representatives.”
