That picture is literally the reason I don’t currently reload.
Les’s rational mirrors mine. With two small kids running around the house, it wouldn’t take but a moment to turn my fancy S&W model 360 into a titanium paperweight. And that negates a TON of reloading savings…
Typically won’t happen with rifle calibers, which is why you should reload .223 and 6.8 etc. It’s not possible for me to double charge a case with any of the loads I shoot on account of the initial charge nearly fills the case.
And you save a buttload of money. And you get to tinker in the garage. And you get to go through the all-important gearing up phase, which as any human male knows, is the best part of any hobby 🙂
Never use a powder that fills less than 50% case capacity. That way you’ll be able to SEE a double charge and it will be difficult to seat the bullet if you don’t.
Also, progressive reloaders are the devil. Use a single stage and you’ll never lose your place.

Bah, if you’re careful it’s not any more dangerous than factory ammo, which has been known to KB guns too.
