“Why is this gun in our neighborhoods?”
Why do they ask that question when they have determined in advance that they are going to invalidate any answers that they don‘t agree with?
How about: “Because Christopher Columbus was a racist.” They would make a quick connection between Columbus’ imagined racism and the anti-Obama racism mentioned in the DHS report and eagerly agree.
How about: “To protect myself.”
They would immediately disagree and call that nonsense because, “nobody needs an assault rifle to protect himself – they’re weapons of war, not self-defense.”
The most ludicrously vague connections they see as perfectly valid, while the most concrete assertions are dismissed out of hand. We are dealing with ideologues who are not dealing with reality.
