We have a nice little trick here in Iowa for convicted felons who want to hunt (bow only of course). They have to take a special hunter safety test. No class available to teach them, just the test. It is 100 questions. As an example, you have to identify the mid range trajectory of a shotgun slug with some presumed zero. Now who knows that off the top of your head? A new, non-criminal hunter who couldn’t find a hunter safety class begged DNR for a chance to take a test and get his license. They gave him that test. He studied the hunter safety materials which don’t mention things like that. He failed. When he did take a class he passed the real test with 98%. I don’t mind that system at all!
