TN Carry Database

TDT reports:

No middle ground found on bill that would close access to handgun permit database

A House subcommittee is taking up a proposal to close Tennessee’s database of state-issued permits to carry loaded handguns from public inspection.

The measure sponsored by retired sheriff and Prospect Democratic Rep. Eddie Bass had been delayed for three weeks in the House Budget Subcommittee. The panel’s chairman, Democratic Rep. Harry Tindell of Knoxville, had said he wanted to find a compromise with open government advocates.

But Tindell says he was not able to find an acceptable middle ground.

I spoke with Rep. Bass last night. This will come as a shock to him.

Check the premises. Who says the “middle ground” is something desireable?

Example; Mobster wants half your income as protection money. You don’t want to give him half, so you convince him to take the “middle ground” and settle for one quarter. Great negotiation skills there buddy. He then comes back in a year and wants three quarters. Lather, rinse, repeat. You lose, dumbass.

You want to lock up CCW records? Go for it all. If you don’t get the votes, attack the opposition and make it impossible for them to live their political lives. Use all tools in the toolbox, then go find some more tools. Better yet, go for Vermont Carry, or Alaska Carry, fuck the whole “records” issue altogether, and leave the antis in the dust, picking their noses and blubbering. Reality and the constitution are on our side, goddammit. We don’t need no steenking “middle ground”.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
