At the current rate, they’ll be allowed to carry them in school before they can talk about them there
Good question: Why can’t students say ‘guns’ in school?

I am pleased to report that in my part of Texas, every time there is a student science fair, at least a handful of elementary grade students opt to demonstrate the definitions of precision and accuracy by posting their targets with statistical analysis of their groups. Some even get more technical with their shooting than I ever have, with a measure of bullet velocity and handload variation effects on groups.
Take that, NEA. Here in Texas, not only can our kids discuss guns in school, they can discuss it scientifically.

When I got out of the service, they made me take a kind of “Transitional Training” which shows you dumb things like how to apply for a real job and how to dress for an interview and dumb shit like that. Anyways, at one point I asked a question about how to enroll in a college, and the instructor was flummoxed, because nobody ever asked him that question before. He then asked how many people had the GI Bill, about 2/3rds to 3/4th of the room raised their hands. “Okay. How many of you are planning to attend college?” Me and one other guy raised our hands, and he was planning on going BACK to school.
The general trend for college attendance in America is downward. Males make up only about 45% of college graduates anymore, probably because colleges cater to women and disdain males. Especially white, heterosexual, conservative, libertarian, or christian males. The things you learn are often tainted with leftist dogma, and the practical subjects you need to learn are less and less likely to be taught. I took a Communications class where we spent 4 MONTHS making a Children’s book. Cutting, pasting, coloring, drawing, bullshit. Stuff I was sick of in the 4th grade. God forbid you’d go to college and actually do college level work, or learn something new, or have Socratic debates or something.

Ok, This hits home. Earlier this year my youngest son, who is 16 and a sophmore at my old high school, was almost suspended for saying the word gun in class. The local police were at the school that morning as he arrived for classes. When he asked some other students what was going on they whispered back and forth about someone with a gun. My son responded by asking, in a full voice, “WHO HAS A GUN?!?!” The teacher went into PSH!! The police had him in the hall searching him. Of course they found nothing and proceeded to march him up to the office. About this time I get the call at work.
I need to explain that I am a single parent with 4 children and I’m very active with my kids at this school. Most of the staff and faculty know me on a first name basis.
At this point I went ballistic. I was in full rant when my cell phone rings with one of the teachers (not the PSH teacher that started all this) calling me to tell me what was happening. So now I have Admin. on one line telling me my son will be suspended due to “zero tollerance” and on the other a teacher telling me everything is ok and my son will be sent home for the day with a warning.
Turns out the the first officer that did the search was an asshat and the teacher had to intervine. The second officer who escorted my son to the office was more reasonable and also helped calm the Admin.. Level heads and reason prevailed and it ended at that.
All this because my son said gun aloud in class.
What the hell is this country coming to?

Answer; because we have to keep up the hysteria and banning even the utterance of the word is a great way to keep up the hysteria.

chris, been there, done that, got the t-shirt. I finally convinced a principal and one superintendent, different schools, that it would not be in their best physical interests to push it.
As for the cops, they don’t pick them for their brains.
