Not a lot in there about the type of guns involved. Shotguns could very likely have been cut-down after they were stolen, and ‘high caliber firearms’ seems like a delightfully vague term. Might mean .50BMG rifles. Might also mean somebody’s bolt-action .600NE, or (depending on how imprecisely we’re using those words) .45 caliber pistols. Presumably doesn’t mean a shotgun with a rifled slug barrel, but hard to say. Not a lot there.

So, we have criminals selling guns to criminals. Who would thought that.

So the gang members sold them to people who “said” that they were going to take them to Mexico. The gang members themselves didn’t take them to Mexico. I’m sure the spin on that will be used by the gun control groups to say “See, we told you so”. The lies and misinformation will continue.

so people that were already banned from owning guns were committing crimes with them… shocking… i dont see how making it harder for me to buy a gun will stop them

Standard ATF sting bullcrap. Have a confidential informant say they intend to do something prohibited with a gun, then buy a gun.
Every gun the drug gang owns then becomes an about to be smuggled weapon.
