Of course, they have to throw in the Police Chief spouting the “firearms are more likely to kill loved ones, especially children, than intruders” nonsense, too.
The interviewee is a retired policeman, and a popular CCW instructor. They couldn’t interview a gun-shop owner in the nearby large city where the police are laid off, because that city managed to run off all its gun shops in the name of public safety.
Horrifying beating/murder of helpless old people, in their home in a good neighborhood, made the front page of their local paper today (beneath the fold because the points-shaving scandal is bigger). Turns out the woman was the mother of a serving police sergeant. Tin foil is on sale: in that same city, when firefighters were laid off, there was an arson boom. When a non-union company converted a hotel to senior housing, union members burned the hotel down (actually served time for it). Tough town.
The mayor there is named Carleton J. Finkbeiner. Jr. You can’t make this stuff up.
“Police searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects. They requested help from the police helicopter, but the air patrol was on furlough and could not work, according to the report.”
