“Since I know that he had been shooting three inch square boxes filled with explosives dangling from paracord nearly 700 yards away just three weeks ago I offered to confirm his story. He said if he needed my help he would let me know.”

    I LOL’ed. Hysterically.

Great Britain home of the first NRA with great help from Arthur Conan Doyle. You can still find the lithographs of Queen Victoria opening up a bar and shooting range… same establishment as that was a favorite past-time in Europe. The ‘saloon pistol’ was the gentleman’s single shot pistol used for such venues… well respected and appreciated.

One has problems reading about Holmes and wondering if Doyle was giving a point of critique to the ‘World’s Greatest Detective’ or if a great mind had its limits for safety. Dr. Watson was a little better, but not by much… still there was an era when any gentleman could have put away two pints and still be a crack shot and appreciated for both skills. An era long gone as we have become far too civilized.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
