Guns in parks
Looks like the amendment to get this passed will have to make it’s way through the house:
One amendment attached to the Senate bill by Senator Tom Coburn, Republican of Oklahoma, would restore a Bush administration policy allowing loaded guns in national parks. That provision is not in the House version, so there may be discussions between the two chambers over the issue.
So, call your Rep and tell them to support this bill.

All politicians ultimately turn out to be scum bags it seems, but maybe Coburn is different. For now, “Go Tom!”

Some commentary (good and clueless, a nice mix) over at Althouse.

Damn a bunch of big gov. I’m all for carrying in parks but the way it'[s being done pisses me off. We’ve got a nanny state credit card law that ought to go down in flaming defeat but Coburn attaches the carry in parks bill to it. Thomas Jefferson would take the entire bunch out behind some shed and whup their asses.
