A first
Obama will sign a pro gun bill into law today. Sadly, it’s attached to the stupid credit card reform bill. But it’s a bit odd to see Obama doing something pro-gun. Even if it’s for the wrong reasons.

Oh, jeeze. Cue Bill Schneider crowing about how this shows Obama isn’t really anti-gun in 3… 2… 1…

We seem to have a lot more problems with RINO’s than with Dems. The Dems, being openly anti-gun rights, tend to thwart themselves, while the RINO’s tend to sneak up on us and stab us in the back after we’ve supported them.
Obama is still as anti-gun rights as he can be, but Congress seems to be where the power is. If Bush had been sent an AWB he would have signed it like he said. It seems that what happens in Congress is what makes the difference.

Anyone know the details on exactly what was done regarding the House voting on the CC bill and the Park Carry amendment separately? The articles I’ve read say something about “bundling” the two back together for the POTUS’s signature. I’m wondering if there is some way he could veto the park carry portion as a separate bill.

When I heard the amendment had been attached in the Senate, I was driving home from work. I laughed so hard . . . it’s a good thing traffic was light that day

Oh, it’s still possibly a restriction on guns.
Consider that the ‘credit card reform’ bill is going to reduce initiative to extend credit cards, and likely tighten up existing credit. Maybe you can’t afford to buy that new gun with your Visa or Master Card, after all.
