Oh, the Oklahoma State Police is in Great Big Trouble with this one.
Forget the legal implications. If you are in law enforcement, the one group of people you really can’t afford to tick off are emergency medical services. Because you WILL encounter them again. And they CAN hit back. Quite hard.

That’s one cop who better never need an ambulance? Maybe not. I imagine the paramedics will do their duty no matter how big an asshole they are saving.

I love the Google ad beneath the photo. Become a State Trooper.

I suppose heat of battle and all that. Powers that be seem to have scotched the ticket idea.
When my brother was running a truck down Nebraska way he was passed by a low flying car and a squad came out of a corn field and almost clipped him. That officer came back an apologized. My brother said he was OK and go get the bad guy.
Looks like this case had multiple squads involved chasing something. That is a very bad mix to get involved with.
Still, all in all, berating an EMT is not a wise descision.

I can guarentee it that every Fire Department and EMS service knows those asshole’s names by now or soon will.
Those jerks will still get assistance from EMTs and Firefighters due to professionalism on the part of the FFs and EMTs, but they’ll never be welcome in a Fire Station.

I’m confused. He pulled him over for failure to yield. Aren’t ambulances with their lights on not supposed to yield? Also, why the choking?

Uniformly beefy Highway Patrol troopers. And touchy. Surely they aren’t body building with steroids?

Gee, don’t they know that ‘roids makes their unit smaller?
Seriously … I don’t expect anything to happen to this ‘tard. Ya gotta allow the king’s men some liberty with the peasants, you know …

And the cops don’t want us to think they’re complete asshats worthy of a firing squad on good day? They’re not helping themselves any. the day of friendly helpful police are gone. they think we’re their enemy, so guess what? it’s time they become ours.

That officer will most likely lose his job and he will be lucky not to face a felony charge charge.

As this happened in the Creek Nation the tribal police and council can take action against the stupid bully-boy sonofabitch. And don’t forget the bill to the state of Oklahoma when the patient sues for being put at risk by this mother jumper’s actions.

And this is based on what exactly?
How many counter examples do you need?

The story just made CNN – I’ll put my money on troopers fired. They sure deserve it.

Here is a link to the EMT’s statement: http://static.ktul.com/documents/emtstatement_0509.pdf
Note, the EMT being accosted by the trooper and threated with arrest was not the one driving!
