The Bill of Rights does not”give” us rights. These rights are inherent, inalienable, and can only be abridged, not granted, by the governments we create.
Other than that fundamental error, good article.
This simple point about rights being our own, not granted or given or created by government, needs to be hammered home at every opportunity.
Otherwise, we get hopenchange socialism, which strips us of these rights for a promised bowl of gruel, never to be delivered.
