Still the 50th state that thinks its the government’s job to define marriage.

Yea marriage is legally a contract the state defines…how nice of them to broaden their definition. How very “L”ibertarian of them.

It’s not butting out of, it’s co-signing, but it’s de minimis.

I think you have it a little backwards, Unc. The NH legislature has extended the taxpayer marriage subsidy to same-sex couples. This has nothing to do with their right to marry or to contract freely.
Note, that I don’t necessarily disagree with the legislature, but the ‘this is a civil rights issue’ meme needs to be stomped on wherever found.
Respectfully,

It’ll help the bed-and-breakfast business. In this economy, they need all the help they can get. It’ll all also help a handfull of actual New Hampshire resident old lesbians avoid probate.

Ok, that “It’ll *all* also help”, worries me. When did I start talking Southern?

NH doesn’t appear to have any kind of “joint-filing” that would be beneficial to couples rather than single people. On the federal level, those marriages aren’t recognized, but if they were some studies have suggested that gay married couples would pay more in taxes as many of them would be subject to the “marriage penalty”.
