Market for No Dogs/No Guns signs to increase
House passes bill allowing dogs in bars:
The measure would be limited to cities with a population of at least 100,000 and business owners would have the power to decide whether to allow dogs at their establishments.
So, restaurants in small cities still have no choice.

In San Francisco, dogs are allowed in bars and outside dining areas of restaurants. Dogs are not allowed inside establishments that serve food. I think the rationale is food safety.

What about those signs in 19th/early 20th Century establishments barring entry of Chinese and Irish?

They barred Indians from bars, too. But any bar that bars service dogs does not deserve this Indian’s patronage. Although I might encourage one of the pack to give a hoist leg salute to the front door.

In a free country, not a problem.

Well there was the sign Bruce Lee kicks in half in “Chinese Connection” that said “No Dogs or Chinese”.
Just don’t take your dog to where the cops eat lunch-it might invite puppycide.
