The revolution will be twittered
Everyone is all ga-ga over how social media is enabling those in Iran to stand up for themselves. The pictures are amazing. People are throwing rocks at snipers. And the mullahs can’t stop the signal. The trouble for the citizens is that they will be crushed when the government decides it has had enough. That is happening now.
I wish them the best. But, more so, I wish they had rifles.

Hell, they stand up to their government more than we do.
Then again, if Tehran was smart, they’d have “Dancing with the Mullahs” on and a pacified nation in no time.

Wow! Well Said!

“I wish them the best. But, more so, I wish they had rifles.”
Amen to that. It’s how the Soviets took large parts of Africa away from the Europeans.

Reading Insty>Belmonr Club, the “Revolutionary Guards” are a separate and independent force, “with its own ground forces, navy, air force, intelligence, and special forces,” and a potential strength of eleven million – who are now poised to suppress internal dissent. I wish them well but they’re going to suffer a lot before they win any semblance of freedom.

Watching the clips on youtube and live leak have reminded me why we have that pesky 2nd amendment. Civilians slaughtered by Lebanese militia men and the Baiji beating protesters with sticks ruthlessly.
Could we air drop some baseball bats into Tehran for the protesters? A gift from the people of the USA?

If we’re going to air drop it should be crates full of AKs. But we already did the “revolution in Iran” dance once before.

Dirt: A “potential strength of 11 million” doesn’t mean they can find 11 million willing bodies.
I’ve been seeing reports of the army refusing to fire on protestors and generals being arrested.
You can’t crush the people when the army decides to take their side.

I just read a report of the army siding with the people against the Baiji.
Shades of Romania!
