Why is it customary for a blog to grab a screen capture of a twitter post instead of just linking and quoting? Just curious.

Just a guess, but maybe twitter archives expire pretty quickly, so this is the only way to keep a permanent record?

I believe that twitter gives you the ability to delete past tweets, which might be a reason that people do screen grabs.

Deletion. For example, one time Meghan McCain tweeted that the Constitution said all men are created equal(that’s the Declaration of Independence.) I called her out on it, and she deleted the tweet. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one giving her a hard time about that. So, that’s why the screen capture.
