A call for ATF reform
From Congressman Zack Space:
Citing the vital need to protect Americans from overzealous federal agents, Congressman Zack Space (OH-18) today issued a challenge to those Members of Congress who supported his Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE) reform legislation, but have yet to sign on this Congress.
“This legislation is far too important to languish due to cold feet,” Space said. “Well-intentioned, law-abiding citizens are being unfairly targeted by federal agents who should be more concerned about the Second Amendment than their next promotion.”

Space is a decent guy with a good pro-2A record. Unfortunately he voted yes on Cap-And-Tax, so his ATF reform bill doesn’t make me any less angry at him.

Hmm; “…federal agents (prosecuting peaceable citizens for technical violations of gun laws) who should be more concerned about the Second Amendment than their next promotion.”
Isn’t that bit like, “robbers who should be more concerned about property rights than their next hit”?
It’s a built-in conflict of interest there, no? Kind of like a Senator who takes an Oath to uphold, protect and defend the Constitution.

The only acceptable reform of BATF that’d be acceptable would be a total disbandment. We have too many criminal organizations in this country as it is, one less cant be bad.
