It would be more accurate to say gun owners on Facebook have pushed around a “poll” to their gun owning friends, and the only people who bother to vote (adding another application) are gun owners who have something to say. It’s not just a self-selecting poll, it’s one that actually requires you add something to take it. Granted, apps just require clicking a button that says you approve them, but I know I don’t add most quiz and crap apps for Facebook. I’m sure people who don’t care about gun issues don’t do it, either.
Around 40% of my friends on Facebook are not gun owners. I published this poll to my wall 3 days ago, but I didn’t tell anyone to take it, and I didn’t see anyone tell me to take it.
I’m sure the folks that take every poll under the sun wouldn’t be turned off by the standard operating procedure for taking a poll on face book.
