Soon, everything will be terrorism
Apparently, threatening telemarketers over the phone is an act of terrorism.

That’s odd. When I threatened to show up at their offices, they stopped calling me.
I wonder what the difference was?

See the MO Code here.
I suspect that like almost all “terrorist[ic] threat” statutes, this predates 9/11 and “terrorism omg” by quite some time.
A threat intended to terrorize its target is a “terrorist threat”; this is not, statutorily, confused with “terrorism” as in blowing stuff up for Allah or to kick the Protestants out of Belfast. Nor should we confuse them just because they have “terrori-” in the name and both involve illegally scaring people.
Threatening to burn down their offices threatens “ten or more people” with “a danger to life”. It’s legitimately a “terrorist threat” both in statute and in the plain meaning of the words.

LOL I once spoke to a guy on the phone who threatened to come to my house and burn my house down.
I reminded him that I, too, knew where HE lived (I was calling HIM, after all), and if he wanted to start something, he was welcome to try.
His attitude changed a little after that, and we parted on polite albeit not amicable terms.
Nowadays, we’d probably BOTH have been arrested.
