The Ballad Of Jayne

LA Times:

L.A. guns to be crushed today, turned into steel rebar

That song wasn’t that bad.

    No revenue being lost there…

  2. JWilliams Says:

hey now, 40 of the 1700 guns taken in where assault style weapons… That’s like 2.3%! I am sure Californias feel much safer with 1660 revolvers, shotguns and bolt actions off the streets… [sarcasm]

  3. Chas Says:

Markie Marxist sez: “Cool! Not only is destroying seized guns a total rejection of any right to keep and bear arms, but since L.A. is refusing to put them back into the market, it’s a rejection of capitalism as well! How Marxist is that? Ha! Ha! We commies own this country! All your guns are belong to us! Ha! Ha!”

  4. JKB Says:

Let’s see, rebar made from mild steel. Guns made from nickel alloy as well as other alloys and even metals for the strength to weight ratio. No one is going to make rebar from gun steel. They’ll make other guns or tools from it.

The article cites that the anonymous program netted Uzis and AK-47s and no one investigated FFL items showing up?

    Chas,

Good statement of commie ideology there:

“The Communist party must control the guns.” — Mao

Makes it handy when you need to consoldiate your dictatorship by having to kill 50 or 60 million dissendents and restisters without having to worry about them shooting back at the hired guns.

Oh, the inhumanity of reporting on these kind of travesties.

Thanks for not posting any pics – I just couldn’t bear to see a crane bucket dropping weapons into a pile for smelting.

California deserves to be in financial straits.

It pays public employees $150,000 per year, it intentionally provides all types of benefits to its illegal communities (most of LA) and it destroys a true cache of weapons which would bring a sizeable amount of money on the open market.

And these guys want a Federal bailout?

Dang. The Wikipedia entry for L.A. Guns is longer than some literary movements. ‘Course you can’t blame Wikipedia for letting events like this be lost to history:

In December 2007, the Tracii Guns version of the band’s dressing room was robbed during a show at McGuffy’s in Dayton, OH. Items taken included wallets, “a Blackberry and a bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey.” [3]

The crushing and smelting of Liberty.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
