“Yeah well, all I need are these shitty tires, ’cause I only paid 800 bucks for this car.”
We heard similar statements in the music business;
“Well, I only paid (some small amount) for this used instrument, so I can’t see spending (more than that) on repairs.”
OK. You don’t actually need it to work for you then. Congratulations on saving money. We’ll be here to buy that instrument from you when you’re done getting frustrated with it.
Heh – I already “proved” crappy optics don’t work. On the first shot with my M1 Carbine rail the Wal-Mart BSA dot broke. Thank goodness for the Wal-Mart return policy, I got my $29.95 back.

My BSA dot works fine. You can buy a lot of BSA dot sights for the cost of one aimpoint.
