Where guns are restricted
In Nigeria, you’re limited to only bird shot. So, Turning Birdshot into Slugs for Self-Defense makes sense.

I must say, that’s an awesome ersatz slug mould.
I can’t remember where I saw it, but there was someone who had the Lee slug mould and a Lee Load-all. They would buy Winchester AA one ounce loads, carefully remove the crimp, pour the lead out, cast it into a slug and then use the Load-all to recrimp.
At the time (a decade ago) I remarked that it seemed like the only reloading activity that paid for itself.

Wouldn’t it be easier to just center-drill the bird-shot in it’s collar wad, right in the shell, and inject epoxy into the center of the shot-mass? The collar-wad should prevent epoxy from glue sticking the wad to the cartridge. If the shot were all glued together in one mass, that’s the same as a slug, and if the right epoxy was used, it would even pass field inspection.
