Surprising list for two reasons: Only two members from Michigan and one of them is not from Detroit. And the other surprise: The entire State of Pennsylvania! What the the hell is wrong with the Keystone State anyway? (Besides Ed Rendell)
I believe that most, if not all, of these MAG dropouts are doing so for political reasons,(getting the gun owners votes) not because they “came to their senses.” As far as I’m concerned if they were with MAG they are, and always will be, anti-second ammendment.
If anyone knows of a anti-second ammendment politician who’s truly changed his/her stance to pro-second ammendment please let me know. I’ve never heard of one that did.
I think Detroit’s former mayor Kilpatrick was a member. (Former in the sense of ‘resigned after corruption allegations and perjury charges’.)
Current mayor David Bing has other things on his mind. He’s trying to convince the city unions that it’s a good idea to accept a pay cut, so that the city won’t go bankrupt.
As a billionaire, Bloomberg is wealthy enough that his thoughts have a way of easily becoming reality. When he wanted to head up an organization in order to promote his political career, he bought one.
The stooges who signed up thought that they were signing for some kind of anti-illegal gun organization. Instead, they found that they had signed up to promote Bloomberg. Not surprisingly, some of them have gotten out once they realized that they were being used.
Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Bloomberg is a billionaire who can do as he pleases. In what does that result?

nice to see my former mayor (Bill White) come to his senses and drop out.

I (and others) got the NRA warning in the mail on Sat. Today my mayor quit the group. Two day turnaround, that’s some heavy hitting!

Huh… never saw my mayor on the list till now. He’s never really struck me as good or bad, but I’m sure not voting for him now.

Huck: You nailed it. Probably a lot of them joined MAIG for political expediency, too.

Maybe they’re realizing that Bloomberg’s definition of “illegal gun” doesn’t match the rest of the country’s.
