I nominate Mayor Bloomberg for Gun Rights Activist of the Year. He lured 450 mayors across the country with anti-gun rights inclinations out into the open, thereby creating a political hit list, and then gave that list to the NRA and every other gun rights group. The best that the NRA could have hoped to do on its own was to send out questionnaires. Thanks to Bloomberg, we now have a clear direction to pursue. Our work is cut out for us, and Bloomberg did the cutting. He has supplied us with the most effective leadership in the advancement of our gun rights that I’ve seen lately.
Sure, he bought a national organization for himself to head up just to flatter his own enormous ego while intending to stick it to law-abiding gun owners, but the benefit to our gun rights cause has been enormous too. There are now 450 anti-gun mayors with their careers on the skids and the NRA greasing the skids. Thank you, Mayor Bloomberg, for being such a fool!
