Something I have no desire to shoot
Well, except once to remind me why I shouldn’t have done it in the first place.
The .950 JDJ. A pic of the round for scale that will scare you.

I’m thinking of going with that round as a replacement for my .357 Sig Sig. Maybe Beretta will pick it up in a modified 92 platform.

“JDJ”?
“Just Don’t”, obviously, but what’s the last J stand for?

According to Wikipedia, the ME of a 20mm auto-cannon round is just under 40k lb/f.
Or, just about 3% higher than this ridiculous monster.

86 lbs. Damn that makes me think it wouldn’t be that bad to shoot. Old bench rifles used massive barrels to counteract the recoil. Something like this:

Nice gun that.

Got a friend who builds rifles that shoot the 14.5mm Russian round. That round puts out ~33K pounds of ME. Another friend builds rifles that shoot a 20mm round. That one wighs ~ 174pounds

“This yields a muzzle energy of 38,685 ft·lbf (52,450 J).”
You fire sixteen foot-tons and what do you get? Another busted shoulder and deeper in debt… Saint Peter don’tcha call me, ’cause I can’t go… I owe my soul to the ammo store!
