The 9000SC has a super long battery life, measured in years. With a decent battery you have more available brightness than you need, and with the optional extended batt. cap, you have a spare on the optic for such occasions. Any apparent distortion of the dot’s shape is due to your Mark I eye balls (imagine looking at a four-inch circle at 100 yards– most people can barely resolve such a thing). Look at the dot through a telescope and it’s nice and round.
