A look at the Mossberg Maverick 88 Shotgun. When I went dove hunting, I used a Maverick. It was accurate enough and out of a case and a half shells, it failed to extract a couple of times.

I figured you had something like that, when you were talking about your sore shoulder and misses.
Although, in my totally ignorant opinion, length of pull is the critical thing. As opposed to action and gauge.
An adjustable shoulder pad, nice, soft, rubber layers (I don’t think I paid more than $3.00 for mine at Sears, 30 years ago) is a must on any shotgun.

Have you ever received a free sticker from Mossberg? Because I’m thinking of reporting this post to the FTC

“Have you ever received a free sticker from Mossberg?”
Markie Marxist sez: “Mossberg shotguns always come with a Mossberg sticker on the buttstock. They always do. Since there’s no separate charge for the sticker, it legally constitutes a freebie. Gotcha!”

I traded in my Big 5 Mossberg 500 because of Failure To Extract problems. Not good since it was the “go to” unit in those days. Good luck!
