Been shooting +p in my KelTec since day one. 7/8 practice ammo, 1/8+p defensive, and I’ve put well over 10,000 rounds through it.
I believe in shooting your carry guns as much as possible, and shooting what you plan on carrying in them.
The only problem I’ve ever had was the bottom lug of the mainspring snapping after several years of riding in my sweaty pocket and shooting mnay thousand rounds through it.
1) There is no SAAMI spec for “.380 +P”. Anything using the “+P” designator that is not 9×19, .45ACP, .38 Super, .38 Special, or .257 Roberts is so much marketing hot air.
2) My immediate reaction upon hearing nebulous high round counts through pocket pistols is “Show me the gun’s log book.” I’ve seen how they hold up in a rental case.

I sure wouldn’t.
Most manufacturers of non-SAAMI-spec .32 and .380 specifically caution against use in the little Kel-Tecs.
A sub 10oz. .380 that doesn’t blow up is an engineering marvel already. Why push it?

Glaser safety slugs will blow up a P3AT. I wouldn’t try +P

The sign at the local Cabela’s says not to fire it in a Ruger LCP, which is just a flashier P3AT.

If it doesn’t, you might be typing on your keyboard with a pencil between your teeth.

For what it’s worth, Kel-Tec says +P is OK as long as it’s not for continuous use – http://www.kel-tec-cnc.com/images/downloads/p3atv2manual.pdf

I dunno about that stuff, but I’ve fired Dynomite-Nobel flat-nosed sub-gun ammo in mine. Worked fine except for the larger muzzle blast.

I tried it in one of my LCPs. Jam-o-matic. The gun only likes ball. C’est la vie.

i haven’t tried HP in my LCP yet, but my LCP is a retreat gun. If i’m down to it, it’s gtfo time.
