Coolest thing about Droid
Is the default droid sound effect. I send myself email just to hear it.
Worst thing about it is that the cable is some bizarre proprietary looking thing, which means the no less than 100 cables I had that worked with my blackberry don’t work. I’ll need a car charger and all of that.

Not a standard mini-usb. That’s a shame; I’m looking for a new phone but refuse to buy one without a standard mini-usb plug.

OK, what does it do that is more than a phone?

It looks like the Droid takes a micro-usb cable, which has become more-or-less the current standard.

My wife, so far, is hating the “Droid” sounder. Mainly, because I get various e-mail in the middle of the night and the disembodied voice talking in the black tends to freak her the hell out.
(I loves it, though)

I think I’m the only one in America who hasn’t been scouped up in the cell-phone technology craze. I have a Nokia Trac-phone. It does the most amazing thing.., it texts, and recieves and sends phone calls. AWSOME!! Even so, one day I’m sure I’ll take the plunge as well. I do miss my Nextel Camera phone w/internet, etc. Lost the job.., phone was part of the deal. 🙁

It is a micro-USB. New stardard for all cellphones, supposedly. There should be a buttload of accessories available. I looked into finding an adapter (apparently Moto made one, among others) for a different device, but it turned out to be easier to just get another cable.
Now if HTC would just get one the bandwagon and get rid of Ext-USB.
