Just received news that the Ulyanovsk plant ammunition plant located 835 km south of Moscow in Russia suffered a catastrophic explosion. Ulyanovsk are the makers of the popular Bear Ammunition.

WTF? Wasn’t it just Prvi Partizan ammo plant that blew up? Seems a little odd.

Bah, nm. Shoulda read the link first. “…as the plant was being dismantled as part of a planned decommissioning.”
Consider it dismantled I guess.

it’s not really an ammunition plant, more of a shop
But it is a large arsenal with conventional weapons stored there starting from WWII.
I served there for 3 years back in 80-s

I wonder if the ammo shortage has caused some manufacturers to push things a little too hard lately.

My first thought was also “Prvi Partizan… ‘Once is accident, twice is coindcedence, three is a conspiracy…'”
Having read the article, my next thought is “Using explosives to decommission an old ammo plant? What kinds of chemical residues might be all over everything?!

I’m afraid SKS and AK ammo might get more scarce.
