Detroit has turned into an ever bigger shit hole. Property value doesn’t exist there, homes have sold for a single dollar. The median price is $7,500. That’s seven thousand, five hundred dollars.
I can’t help but wonder when it’ll be turned into a giant Military Operations on Urbanized Terrain (MOUT) facility.
property values don’t exist in Detroit because no jobs exist in Detroit — why live there if you have to go to work somewhere else?
same thing goes for the suburbs around metro Detroit, as far out as Flint. Mike Moore has spent twenty-odd years griping about how bad things are in Flint, but guess what — he’s been right all along about that, and still is. he could’ve been griping about Detroit just as well. or Pontiac. or…

Ah yes, my home state. I was in Pontiac recently for a funeral. We made the mistake of stopping for gas after dark. I won’t do that again.
What’s funny is that Oakland County is one of the richest counties in the country, and has Pontiac dead center in it and Detroit to the south.
