The best line of the article, for me, was the following: “The most common cause of the negligent discharge of a firearm is pulling the trigger while the gun is loaded.”
In other words, most NDs are caused by the gun operating as it was designed to function, and the “accident” is user-based, with the user firing the gun unintentionally but due to their own negligence.
I just wish they would have added a percentage to that line, because I suspect the ratio of user faults to gun faults is over 99.94%, (better than Ivory Soap) and might reach the level of a six-sigma problem.
