And I think that reporter was reading the comments over here yesterday. Check this out: The gun was later identified as a TEC-9, also known as a DC-9 — a semi-automatic “assault pistol” that can be converted by owners into an automatic weapon. It looks like a miniature submachine gun, and police described it Sunday as about a foot and a half long.
Now, I dunno if they were reading these comments or if rickn8or and I just know what they’re going to say before they say it.

Give the reporters some credit. They didn’t call it an AK-47.

Because a Tec-9 looks so much like an Uzi.
Maybe he was thinking of the Oozie Super-machine Bazooka that take a mega-capacity banana-clip forward of the pistol grip.
Those can be readily converted by badgers into a satellite laser platform!

Thanks for the update on this, I was kind of curious how that was going to play out and wrote about it in my blog. I’ll have to post an update.
And wow, I know it’s happened before but this is my first time seeing ‘assault pistol’ actually being used. When I read that bit I was literally ROFL.
