Music Fight

Heh: What bands / musical artists are you surprised to learn they have more than one song. As in, each and every song sounds pretty much the same?

Kenny G comes instantly to mind on that. His entire schtick is just one continuing series of endless flutter-riffs on various sax-derived horns.

Whitney Houston was so bad, that Weird Al Yankovich even parodies her tune “Didn’t We Almost Have It All”, with his version titled; “Why Do My Songs All Sound The Same?”

Y’oughta download that one, he nails it.

I could swear eminem’s songs are all the same.

  3. Jennifer Says:

Anyone remember Ace of Bass? Yeah, one song.

  4. John Says:

    Metallica.

    Spin Doctors, hands down.

  6. ATLien Says:

Sorry, John, but you just shown yourself as musically illiterate.

  7. JJR Says:

Well, Nickelback, but that’s really shooting fish in a barrel.

    Sawyer Brown

Aerosmith? IIRC SNL had a pretty good Sandler skit on that subject a while back.

Coldplay: Think of them as Nickleback but with a Bono sound-alike yawning as the vocal track.

  11. MikeS Says:

x2 on Metallica and add AC/DC.

  12. RML Says:

Sorry John and MikeS, but there is a world of difference between Metallica’s “Bleeding Me” and “Ain’t My Bitch” or “Wasting My Hate”, and they are on the same record.

  13. Eric Says:

If Metallica’s songs all did sound the same there wouldn’t have been so much uproar about Load or St. Anger

I can’t believe no one in either thread has mentioned Dragonforce. They even re-use LYRICS among several songs on the same album.

Linkin Park, Blue October, System of a Down, Dave Mathews Band…

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
