Compare and Contrast
The claim is that a poll of people who said they were NRA members support all kinds of gun control. And that those controls are reasonable, like banning sales to folks on watchlists. But 79% from the same poll say Obama will ban guns. Is that also reasonable?
More on the polls here, including bogus questions and NRA membership.
It’s odd to me. I talk to NRA folks and their internal polling doesn’t usually bear this stuff out. But, then, they’re polling actual members while MAIG is polling folks who say they are members.

Well, they can’t poll members of gun control groups because the sample size is far to small.

Oh Hell! I did it again. Somebody please send Sebastian some anti-tremble medicine.

Anti-tremble medication?

My request was directed to anybody but Sebastian. I wish he wouldn’t respond to my comments, because as a normal human being, I feel obliged to reply. As this sends him into paroxysms of fear (threatening with conversation) I believe it to be cheap and tacky that he would address me since I cannot talk to him without inducing him to panic.

“But, then, they’re polling actual members while MAIG is polling folks who say they are members.”
Hell, who is to say they are talking to people who claim to be members? I wouldn’t be surprised if they were just pulling that number out of the air and claiming it. These is NOT the most ethical or honest people to deal with.

That’s right. I forgot that I was afraid of you for a second.

I can only go by what you told me.

Oops!

Didn’t some poll a few years back say that 14 million people thought they were members of the NRA (there are 4 million NRA members)?
To properly weight the poll to get how many actually are NRA members you would have to use only 28% of the total who “said they were NRA members”.
