Based on comments and some law enforcement types, it appears that Fox OC is the way to go.

That’s good but, no offense, I still don’t see why the lady cannot learn to put a .22LR bullet into an eyeball at twenty-five feet or less.

Cause a missed shot might put a .22 in Juniors eye.
Anyway, I am a million times more impressed with Fox Labs after what happened to me last night
Of course, now I have to order a new can.

Thanks for the bleg on personal defense sprays! Does anyone have any experience with the new Mace Pepper Gun? I’m sometimes in states with no-guns-in-bars (including places like Applebee’s) laws and I’d like something to put where I normally have my handgun.

Just a word to the wise, make darn sure that the wife and Jr and others in the household are not going to have an adverse reaction to OC! We used to carry it but the Mrs. has asthma and we found out early the hard way. Long before her breathing issues were diagnosed she got an exposure to discharge of OC in a SMALL amount in another room of the building and ended up calling EMS when her lungs locked up. That would not be good if she had tried to use it in the wild for real.

looks good.
Now if I could only convince the manufactures to sell a training unit with the same spray pattern except have it only spray inert something like water.
Ever have a can of wasp spray that claims to shoot a stream “up to 20 feet away”?

D’oh! It looks like they carry the small size (2oz) of inert as a stocked item on their website
anyone know of an e-retailer that stocks it?

Wolfwood:
I’d stay far, far away from that thing. It looks way too much like a gun for a weapon that’s not a gun. Remember, many (if not all) states have laws that treat “look-alikes” as if they were real. If you did have to spray someone, there’s a potential for you to get hit with a weapons charge if deadly force would not have been appropriate – even if pepper spray would have been an appropriate response. There are other potential problems, too.
Not really worth it, IMHO.
