That’s a dead ringer for the $79.95 ArmsCor M-1600 I gave my kid some years ago. He took up shooting, and won a full-ride scholarship. I recommend them, unreservedly.
I re-enacted this scene by giving my kids their first Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. Downside? Didn’t think to notify the wife of this “surprise” beforehand. Her reaction wasn’t nearly as winsome as the nice lady in the movie. I had some ‘splainin’ to do.
Is there no end to the conspiracy of irrational prejudice against Red Ryder and his peacemaker?

Just touching it made his left hand swell up like a marshmellow. Truly that is an evil rifle.

Cute. Had one of those as a kid. Red Ryder that is.
I would imagine and air soft would cover today.

I gave one of my nephews a Smith MP 15/22 for Christmas.
He said it was “awesome”, which is high praise for an 8.5 year old.
