I saw a similar trick when I worked in a ER in Kansas City in the early 90s. Guy trying to rob a convenience store shot himself in the thigh w/ a sawed off shotgun. One of the most interesting gunshot wounds I ever saw. Broke the femur and removed most of the muscle of the inside right thigh but all the major vessels were intact. looked like a dissection manual. An inch over would have made the roster a hen. After much surgery moving butt muscle to thigh he would walk again, in the prison yard.

Ow. That’s a big, heavy load of self-dispensed justice. So, say you’re the poor guy being robbed and your robber pops himself in the leg. What do you do; help him out with another round? I guess it depends on whether he’s still holding his bang stick or flopping around on the floor, crying.
