RFI Terminator Gun. You know, just in case.
So Danny Westneat is all upset that some guy who used guns to kill people had guns. He notes the courts took the cop killers car away but not his guns. And some news source points out that the shooter owned guns legally. I’m not sure how he owned them legally since he was the subject of a restraining order, as mentioned in the same piece. And also, apparently, convicted of domestic violence. Again, that would make it illegal for him to own guns. The article adds:
Despite his violent past, Crable was still able to own guns. According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, he was not a convicted felon and could possess weapons.
In the numerous restraining orders, his family never asked for his guns to be taken away.
Sheriff is wrong. The Lautenberg Amendment is pretty clear.
The state attorney general’s office is appealing a recent court ruling that overturned a law allowing licensed handgun owners to take their weapons into restaurants that serve alcohol.
Harry Reid apparently thinks the healthcare bill is an amendment?
The state will not disclose tax violators. But anyone can get a copy of the database of law-abiding citizens.
Made the blog rounds a bit back but it seems that policy has ended:
The state Department of Children & Families will no longer document whether prospective foster parents own a gun.
Breda takes a new shooter to the range with pics.
Robb takes a young lady to the range too.
Accidental firearms death is less than plane crash or spacecraft explosion. Seriously, spacecraft explosion occurs frequently enough that they track it?
And the healthcare bill sucks. Full of accounting gimmicks and doesn’t help many folks. And the beauty is that it takes money from one insolvent entitlement program that is unfunded and funds a new and soon to be insolvent entitlement program that probably won’t be funded. I was perusing the few lefty blogs I read to see what they had to say. Most of them said it was a big crap sandwich. But one said it was the best crap sandwich they ever had. And you should support it. Because it’s being pushed by people w Ds after their name. Or something. Further into debt, we go.
Anyway, it fits the trend of this administration: government growth. It’s really Chicago politics playing out on a national scale. They create a class dependent upon the government. Then that class has to support and vote for its creators. Sadly, it’s looking to lead our country into financial ruin. Our senate is set to vote on increasing the debt ceiling again. And this is without the health care bill.
A cop pulls over a stripper. Gets a little excited. And gives her a pearl necklace. So, the stripper says he did it. So does DNA evidence. And the guy admits to it. Open and shut, right? Nope he once again gets off. After all, she’s a stripper and, of course, must be a whore who wanted it.
Another Violence Policy Center study goes poof: Would you trust the statistical and factual reporting acumen of an organization that can’t even tell the difference between someone being dead or alive?
When this first came out, I think there were also problems in that someone was killed and it wasn’t with a gun. And that some killings were self defense.
That LWRC ad that was being played on the Military Channel:
A small claims lawsuit over a gun malfunction. Interesting. Seems some folks have issues with their G36.
Apparently, someone thought it would be a good idea to wear animal skins and go traipsing through the woods in hunting season. Ended as expected.
Murder and manslaughter down ten percent for the first half of the year. After record gun sales this and last year? Unpossible!
State Senator Doug Jackson looks to be gearing up for another crack at the bill.
Times Herald publishes a database of carry permit holders. Folks encouraged to contact advertisers. Paper loses Harley-Davidson of Bloomington’ business. So, go buy a Harley. If you’ve been needing an excuse to do that.
Spent part of the weekend chitchatting with some more sooper seekrit sources who have handled the Fourth Generation Glock. You can see a picture of it here. And some of the changes discussed here.
I have confirmed once again that the picture is reportedly correct.
Also, someone who put a few thousand rounds out of one said the recoil on the new G22 (the .40 cal) is substantially reduced due to the new springs. He said that the new Glock has more of a push than a snap, common in .40 cals. Perceived recoil is, of course, a subjective thing so take it for what its’ worth.
Also, on the grip, I was told how the backstraps work. Seems that the middle sized backstrap is the standard G22 group. The smaller backstrap, I am told, seems to give the G22 the SF treatment. You’ll recall the 21 and 30 SFs that were released a couple of years ago. The grips were slimmed down a bit. And there’s a larger backstrap for folks with gigantic hands.
From what I gathered, the new Glock slides will not fit old Glock frames.
People question the pictures stating it could be a photoshop because it has Gen4 stamped on the slide. I asked if they had that stamped on them and the answer was that they do. Not certain if the stamps will appear in full production but the models circulating now are stamped as such.
Meanwhile, Steve has found a Gen4 price list.
So by the same argument that it’s no big deal, it would be ok for them to publish a registry database of where all the bloggers live, right?
Those darn gun dealers. Making me break the law and all of that. Oh, except that those darn gun dealers actually alerted the feds to the fact I was buying a lot of guns.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
