Unclaimed Property is a scam
Oh sure. We can’t have those evil companies receiving pay for services and then not providing it. I’ve known two people who tried to claim their actual legitimate unclaimed property and they couldn’t get it because of the documentation require. One person didn’t have a copy of a utility bill from 1974. And after some arbitrary amount of time, this money goes to the state. I would not be surprised to see other states go after prepaid phone cards, just like DC.
