The weather explained
As evidence:
C-SPAN yelling at congress over health insurance reform.
Calls for reporters to protest
The press getting all up in the hopenchange’s face? No wonder it’s cold. Hell has frozen over.
ETA: For you non-local yokels, our weather here has gone from a bit chilly to ZOMG!! WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE. Even though there is no accumulation.

Just saw some snow flakes outside. And learned that all schools in a given county close if any of them need to close. And that there are reserved snow days for schools in Tennessee.
Teachable moments.

We have a foot on the ground with more on the way. Not to mention wind to move what we have around. To me, green is a destination.

Yeah, “White Death 2010” has been a big nothing on this side of the state as well.

ZOMG!! WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE. Even though there is no accumulation.
Well, what with Global Warming and all, I guess there wouldn’t. /sarc

Man, things are shut down here in Huntsville. Except for my job of course. Our company policy is that it doesn’t matter if the customer has closed down, roads are closed, state of emergency, or whatever, unless the company tells you stay home, you’re responsible for the hours.
Death, famine, war and pestilence could be riding their steeds down I-65 and I’d still have to go to work.

Heh, I’ve got you all beat.
I’m in Central Texas, the low tonight is supposed to be in the low 20’s, and the news media is screaming about “ARTIC BLAST ’10!”, even though there is no snow, no sleet, no ice, just wind.

While the press is grilling Mr Gibbs, I’ll take a side of haunch, medium rare.

Well here’s an editorial cartoon on proper snowstorm stocking up.
Sure it’s a lot of hype but in context, when you, thankfully, are afflicted with very little snow, a little bit can be a problem. We’ve had a cold week and will have a cold weekend that will let the ice hang on until around 2pm on Monday when warmer weather prevails.

I’m in AK, and we’ve got unseasonably high temperatures (over freezing today!!) and limited snowfall. Give me my snow back!

I’m in Minnesota, and the temperature is going back and forth across zero Fahrenheit. We have a fair bit of snow as well. The streets are treacherous even for experienced Winter drivers.
I think I’ll surf the net.
