After our snow non event, I am surprised at the number of abandoned cars on the road.

As with many situations we as a people are dealing with right now, just shows a total lack of preparation on the part of individuals. It really sucks that people as a whole have gotten so whimpy that they are totally dependant on govt agencies for the most mundain of issues. Everyone needs to be rescued. I have stuff in my vehicle all the time and never take it out, road side emergancy kit from sams for $29 that has enough in it to handle almost any basic issue on the road. Jumper cables, throw away camera for accident doc. writing stuf, basic hand tools etc. Most of these people had thier cars die due to lack of proper maintainance or just cant drive in the snow. Our country has gradually since WW II become a nation of electronicly dependant, lazy self indulgent WHIMPS! In short order they are all going to get a rude surprise(2nd great depression)in which they will have to depend on themselves and eachother. ITs gonna be a wild ride……BUY MORE AMMO

Have not noticed that around here (Birmingham, AL area). Business as usual today. Even did a little work outside, which sucked, but all in all no problems.

It was pretty wicked on our street yesterday. When I got to our street Melissa had just tried going up the hill and slid backwards through the intersection. There was a car in the ditch and we watched a 4WD pickup truck lose control going down the hill and almost get t-boned. We parked our cars at the bottom of the street and walked to the house.

4WD does not help when the roads are covered in 1/8″ of ice. It just helps you spin in circles faster.
