Being Evil
Everyone’s all excited at Google telling China where it can go:
China attacked a company and now that company is taking retaliatory action. A nation attacking a company is nothing really new, but in this case the company (Google) has the capacity to do something about it. Depending on how this plays out Google could be doing something that a) no other company has had the balls to do and b) something the US Gov could only dream about doing.
I’m still a bit concerned that google was willing to censor all kinds of info as long as the Chinese government let them operate there.

Basically, they’re competitors. They’re both after the same thing, a monopoly on information.

What I want to know is what Google really thought would happen when they jumped into bed with the Chinese government. Did they really think that the Chinese government was a benign regulator of content in the best interest of its citizens? If so, they were fools. If not, then they were hypocrites. They get what they deserve.
