Slowing
NSSF notes that the number of NICS checks are down, indicating a leveling off of gun sales that spiked in what is commonly called the Great Obama Gun Rush.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that personal transactions have gone down; most of my firearms have never been through a NICS check.

I’ve been seeing more used “scary black guns” for sale lately.
A year ago at this time, my favorite gun store had no new ARs or AKs and forget about exotic stuff or used ones.
Last weekend, the consignment rack had probably 7 ARs on it, a couple AKs an AR-180 and some FN-FAL stuff.
http://www.gunlistings.org has a bunch of “never been shot” scary black guns all tricked out. They’re mostly still trying to get top dollar, but I figure a glut is in the making.
A few months from now might be a good time to start buying up “used” guns cheap.

True, BobG, but the NICS checks give us an idea of how many new guns are entering the public arena. Private buys are only of non-“factory new” guns.
More is better.
