There are no stupid question
Ok, there are: Are guns necessary?
Well, let’s see the police go to work without them or the military. And you could probably go hunting with a stick and a rock. Or use a whole big bunch of wishful thinking to fend off a home invasion. But I don’t advise it.

The use of “autos” throws up red flags in my mind for some reason.

They are necessarry. They keep the big from terrorizing the little. The young from assaulting the old. The many have to respect the few and the infirm may defend themselves from the healthy.

Let’s be fair. She doesn’t ask “What’s the necessity of a gun?” or “What’s the necessity of having a gun?”.
She asks “What’s the necessity of having to have a gun?”. That’s a terrific semantic distinction. Deep.
A former President of the United States once sent an Assistant Secretary of Defense up Capitol Hill to testify before a congressional committee that the armed forces (of those United States) no longer needed riflemen. So it’s not as if the questioner isn’t in distinguished company. You can look it up.

There are no stupid questions, just stupid people who ask questions.
